Sanjay's Story
Sanjay Patra (name changed), a 49-year-old from Ganjam District, was admitted to DISHA, Berhampur, on April 12, 2024, due to alcohol addiction spanning 28 years, which caused family conflict, unemployment, and social dysfunction. Diagnosed with F10: Mental and Behavioral Disorders, he underwent holistic treatment, including counselling, therapy, psychoeducation, vocational training, and yoga. Initially resistant, Sanjay gradually improved, recognizing unemployment as a key trigger for his addiction. Upon completing his three-month program, DISHA offered him a role as a Helper. Since his discharge on July 25, 2024, he has transformed his life, now living purposefully and inspiring others in recovery.
