Stories of Lives Transformed Through Our Initiatives

Bibek's Story

On November 4, 2023, 26-year-old Bibek Mahananda (name changed) was admitted to a de-addiction center by his brother due to eight years of alcohol and substance abuse, which disrupted his life and strained his family. Bibek, weighing just 50 kg at the time, exhibited agitation, tremors, and extreme weakness. A psychiatrist diagnosed him with F10 (mental and behavioral disorder due to alcohol use) and prescribed medication.
With proper care, including medication, psycho-educational sessions, CBT, and various counseling sessions, his condition improved steadily. After nearly three months, Bibek regained his physical and mental health and was discharged on February 1, 2024. His family expressed deep gratitude for the centre's support in transforming his life.
