About DMF Ashraya
DMF ASHRAYA a shelter home has been stated in the year of 2023 on 6th march in Keonjhar with the support of District Mineral Foundation, Government of Odisha for homeless people with mental illness. DMF ASHRAYA provides an opportunity to rebuild the lives of survivors, which seem lost due to their illness. It specialized in providing care, physical & psychological treatment, recreation & life skilled training and complete rehabilitation measures, ultimately reuniting the survivors with their families and reintegrating them into the community through vocational & life skilled training. The shelter home assists survivors in livelihood enhancement in earning after their recovery, preventing them from being considered a burden to their families. The shelter home is always providing the services 24/7 like skill development and other initiatives to lead a better life.

Mr. Mahanta's Story
Mr. Mahanta (name changed), a follower of Baba Ashram Babu, struggled with mental health issues after Baba's arrest in 2014. Diagnosed with a mental illness in Ranchi, his condition initially improved with treatment but worsened after he discontinued medication, leading to violent behavior and periods of absence from home. Admitted to DMF Ashraya, Keonjhar, he often spoke of spirituality in a disconnected manner. Through consistent counselling and medication, he made significant progress, becoming less violent and more active in daily routines. After a four-month stay, he was employed as a sanitary worker at Impronex Security Services, earning ₹7,200 per month. He also works as a gardener and sanitary worker at DMF Ashraya, where he now resides and continues his recovery.
