About Sakhi One Stop Centre
Sakhi One Stop Centre was set up after an incident of the 2012 Delhi gang rape outrage to support women affected by violence, in private and public spaces, within family, community and workplace. People's Forum was selected as the noodle agency tin 2015-2016 and it was the first centre to be started in the state as the pilot project at the Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar. currently, the organisation is managing Sakhi Centre in three districts - Koraput, Sonepur, Angul.

Rani's Story
Rani (name changed), a widowed and homeless woman from Khordha, Odisha, faced immense hardships. Pregnant and anxious, she was brought to the SAKHI One Stop Centre near from Ram Mandir, where she found comfort, medical care, and emotional support. SAKHI ensured she received proper prenatal care and a safe place to stay. On July 20, 2023, Rani gave birth to a healthy baby girl, a moment of hope and joy. With SAKHI's continued assistance, including medical support and essential supplies, Rani and her daughter moved to a safe new home in Kalinga Vihar to begin a fresh chapter in their lives.
